Improve Patient Data Exchange Between EMS Vehicles and Local Hospitals
Julia knows how critical it is for EMT’s to be able to quickly and securely access current patient information in the field as well as in the hospital. Her goal is to access complete electronic patient care records (EPCR) in real-time to better treat individuals in emergency situations. She also wants to quickly transmit patient data back to the hospital so doctors on staff can be better prepared for patient arrival. And of vital importance, all patient records and data must be kept confidential to ensure continued HIPAA-compliance.
The Solution
XR90 Routers and LTMWG Antennas for EMS Vehicle Communications
With the AirLink XR90’s 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet speeds, EMS vehicles can get patient electronic patient care records (EPCR) as soon as possible. The AirLink XR90's 5G communication speeds allow the EMS teams to transmit large EKG files to the hospital in addition to patient videos while en route. At the hospital, the EMS team can quickly offload patient files using Wi-Fi 6.
Each router is purpose built for rugged environments with IP64 rated aluminum die-cast housings that meet MIL-STD-810G standards. And with the XR90’s multiple connection ports, all the EMS and vehicle equipment can directly interface to the router simplifying implementation and increasing reliability. And with ultra-wide band and extremely rugged LTMWG944 antennas from Mobile Mark, 4G and 5G LTE signals and internal and external Wi-Fi coverage get a major boost in strength and reliability - especially when paired with the Verizon Frontline 5G network.
