The Verizon CATM1 TRIPLE PUNCH (2FF/3FF/4FF) LTE SIM

Newly released Verizon CATM1 LTE SIMs are finding immediate use in IoT applications. As the use of the LTE Cat-M1 becomes a mainstream alternative to SigFox and LoRA, USAT is supporting our clients through early testing and deployment cycles. Cat-M1 is designed for industrial IoT applications that are low-and-slow and that will require very little bandwidth. The low bandwidth business case for Cat-M1 devices demand new types of data plans from Verizon.

Cat-M1 Data Plans and the Cat-M1 SIM

One part of controlling just where Cat-M1 data plans can be used is via the Cat-M1 SIM. To activate on a CAT-M1 rate plan, one of the requisites is that a specific Cat-M1 SIM be used. This SIM is “locked” to a device when activated and can not be switched between network devices. The SIM is constructed as part of a punch-out card. One punch-out card is tri-cut to offer the SIM in 3-different form factors designed to fit into SIM slots that require 2FF, 3FF and 4FF SIM card slots.
