Issues With Upcoming Google Maps API Release
Sierra Wireless' AM/AMM management system incorporates the functionality of Google Maps, offering numerous map-based reports and other features. There is an upcoming compatibility issue with certain map-based reports, such as Coverage Trails, due to the upcoming release of Google Maps API version 3.54 in mid-August 2023.
This issue will not affect the Map or Tracker features of AM or AMM.
To address this concern permanently, Sierra Wireless is working on a solution in the form of AM/AMM 2.17.5, which will be released after the August 2023 deadline. However, until that version becomes available, Sierra Wireless has prepared a temporary workaround for customers to implement on the AM/AMM.
This workaround will be supported until April 2024, after which the permanent fix delivered in AM/AMM 2.17.5 will be required.
We encourage all customers to upgrade to AM/AMM 2.17.5 as soon as it becomes available to ensure seamless functionality and uninterrupted access to the full range of features on our platform.
