Monitoring each building is a time-consuming task. It’s also something that traditionally has relied on either in-person inspections or reports made by tenants. By the time damage or issues are recognizable enough to be reported, the cost of remediation may be incredibly high. For example, mold caused by humidity may not be noticeable for many months, and in that time could spread throughout an entire building.

The Solution

MultiTech Conduit Allows for Scalable Sensor Data Transmission

Using MultiTech Conduits and wireless sensors, a real-time digital property management solution was developed that allows property managers to receive and analyze data that’s critical to building and tenant health. The sensors gather data such as temperature, humidity, Co2, and movement across thousands of modules and send it all directly and in real-time to an application dashboard. From there, social housing landlords are able to quickly see key metrics and receive alerts about all of their monitored properties.

The MultiTech Conduit, an IoT gateway, enables the transfer of data from the sensor to the IoT dashboard, with each Conduit gateway having the ability to manage thousands of MultiTech mDot LoRaWAN modules and other sensors. The data can then be transmitted over any cellular network to the PHA’s preferred data management platform.
