Many of the companies billboards operate on slow and outdated modems that consume a lot of electricity and are becoming more vulnerable to hacks. Additionally, the higher ups wanted Rachel to find a solution that also improved her organizations ability to monitor the status of every billboard.

After reaching out to USAT, Miss Reed was presented with an all-in-one solution to her challenge. The AirLink RV50x is a rugged gateway capable of withstanding the elements while consuming the lowest amount of power possible. When attached with a Mobile Mark MGRM-WLF Wide Area antenna and combined with cloud-based Airlink Management Software (ALMS), Miss Reed can securely and efficiently connect embedded media players within each digital asset seamlessly to her divisions internal Content Management Software (CMS). And with USAT’s installation services, she won’t need to coordinate field service teams with the operations department.

After testing a dozen installations, Miss Reed was able to gain instant visibility to digital billboards scattered across the state. The new routers reduced electricity consumption at those sites by 75%, added a new hardened security layer, and enabled instant updates to the content being displayed to motorists across I-40. In time, the electricity savings alone will recoup her companies investment in the upgrades while adding new insights such as power outages, display issues, and other business critical reporting and analytics. Her company put together a plan to scale the upgrades across all major digital assets over the next 18 months.
