In-Vehicle Routers


Custom-built for vehicular use, Semtechs' (formerly known as Sierra Wireless) AirLink routers are engineered to withstand extreme temperatures, dust, and water spray with an IP64 sealed design and MIL-STD-810G rating, rendering them ideal for police, fire, emergency medical services, and other public safety agencies.

Upon connection, facilitated by flexible mounting options and a highly sensitive roof-mounted antenna system, these routers establish a high-capacity Vehicle Area Network (VAN) featuring LTE-Advanced connectivity, along with Gigabit Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet within the vehicle.

This setup enables access to various wireless networks through the router, including public LTE, Public Safety broadband (FirstNet®), and 802.11ac Gigabit Wi-Fi (though newer models are now available with Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7). Simultaneously, the routers connect multiple devices in and around the vehicle, such as laptops, tablets, and video recorders, facilitating mission-critical applications like video upload, live streaming, and access to remote databases such as record management systems.
