5G Adapters and Omni-Directional Antennas
The W2005-5GB 5G Wideband Adapter is purpose-built for outdoor deployment in the coverage and capacity spectrum layers. To address the tradeoff of lower propagation in the capacity layer, Cradlepoint designed the W2005-5GB to be placed on the outside of buildings for optimal signal reception and built it to rugged IP67 ratings for harsh outdoor environments.
To maximize the 5G 4x4 MIMO cellular signal of the W2005, we use the XPOL-1-5G whose radiation patterns are omni-directional and exceptionally well controlled. This makes the antenna perfect for most application areas, such as urban and commercial to achieve the best possible coverage over a large area. The robust mechanical enclosure design makes the antenna weather, dust and vandal resistant and gives it an IP65 rating, suitable for punishing construction site environments.
To utilize the W2005's 2x2 MIMO WiFi, we utilize the WLAN-61, whose wide beam width ensures good coverage in offices, halls, factories, and outdoor environments. The WLAN-61 can operate in both popular Wi-Fi frequency bands 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (though the W2005 only requires 2.4), offering excellent utilization of the radio spectrum. The antenna has 9 dBi gain in the 2.4 GHz band and 11 dBi gain in the 5 GHz band, which offers the best performance with a reliable connection. The housing is made of ABS which is a high impact-resistant plastic and is also resistant to acids, water, and dust that may be present at job sites.
