Building on the success of the GB-06 bracket, MCA is launching a new GB-09 bracket and ground plane to serve both the needs of engineers and installers alike. Optimized for the 3G /4G-LTE and 4G-LTE AWS spectrums, the GB-09 features a frequency-matched ground plane that maximizes signal strength on all supported spectrums. With its rugged, corrosion-resistant aluminum design, this bracket is ideal for use in markets involved with critical infrastructure, utilities, data acquisition, router failover, surveillance and security, and branch office connectivity.

MCA’s GB-09 offers unparalleled versatility and can be mounted onto a variety of surfaces including building walls, outdoor enclosures, boxes, masts, and utility poles. With its convenient keyhole slots and leveling slots, the GB-09 offers many installation advantages, which help professionals maximize time and efficiency.

The mount is designed so that a single installer can mount an antenna higher than with other mount designs. In order to respond to the interest of electric utilities, MCA’s bracket design enables installers to mount the GB-09 on a utility pole without the use of a ladder. The GB-09 bracket can conveniently accommodate metal as well as plastic straps, allowing installers to securely attach the mount to poles of virtually all diameter with no penetrations of the pole—ideal for cement utility poles and structural support beams.

The GB-09’s 8.5” ground plane is engineered to support the larger wave sizes of some 4G-LTE spectrum, while the antenna mounting hole is sized to work with a wide variety of SMA and N-Male cellular antennas including hockey puck, low-profile, and many mast style antennas. Customers are enjoying the fullest capabilities of their CradlePoint, Digi International, Sierra Wireless, CalAmp, and Red Lion/Sixnet M2M modems by using optimal antenna configurations supported by the GB-09’s ground plane and enhanced antenna placement options.

This bracket and ground plane used in concert with the proper antenna also supports modems provided by all four of the major wireless cellular data carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. For customers using NEMA enclosures or outdoor enclosure cabinets, the GB-09 antenna bracket can help elevate the antenna away from enclosures while improving signal strength. The configuration has been tested with antennas manufactured by Mobile Mark, Antennas Plus, Laird and Wilson Electronics (now WeBoost).
